Drum Workshops & Practice
The Center for Peace has an ongoing group of singers and drummers who serve at the ceremonial dances here at the Center as well as at other locations. Yearly workshops are offered here and at nearby cities for initiating new people into this ancient tradition of service.
These classes will be for both beginning drummer-singers as well as for those who wish to begin practicing for the upcoming dance season. The ceremonial songs of the Tewa tradition will be taught and practiced in a sacred way. Only those who are called to this learning should come!
There is a donation requested of workshop participants for the use of the facilities. Those who have previously attended this workshop in other locations are also invited to participate and are asked only to make a love donation towards expenses.
Please bring food to share for lunch.
In addition to the workshops, drum practices are usually held monthly at the Center in the winter and spring to prepare for the upcoming dance season.
