Join us on Friday the 13th in March to celebrate an Evening Sweat Lodge.
The fire will start around 5pm and we will go into the lodge around 7pm. There will be a potluck feast after the lodge at the house, so please bring something to share.
Before patriarchal times, Friday the 13th was considered the day of the Goddess. This was a day to worship the Divine Feminine that lives in us all. A day to honour the cycles of creation, death and rebirth. Friday the 13th was originally considered a very powerful day.
Number 13 represents rebirth, creation, alignment, and growth.
The sweat lodge is a good way to prepare for: "March 15-18: Balsamic Moon Phase - Time to Reconnect with the Light Within
The Moon will be waning in its Last Quarter phase. This is known as the Balsamic “Crescent” Moon phase, a transitional time of the month when the Moon’s light is diminishing. At this time, the Sun, which represents the soul of the world, is not being reflected to us through the Moon. Thus, we must instead tune in and meditate in order to reconnect with the true spiritual light within. This is also the time of the month to cleanse, clear, rest, and rejuvenate, in preparation for the New Moon ahead." (From Juliana Swanson at Astral Harmony.)
The sweat lodge is good way to prepare for the Spring Equinox on March 20: a time to honor the balance between light and dark, between day and night, and to honor equality.
The sweat lodge is a good way to prepare for the 9 Nights Honoring the Divine Feminine from March 19-27, Chaitra Navaratri which honors Kali, Lakshmi, and Saraswati. Also honoring Parvati and the many roles women may hold throughout their lifetime especially Daughter, Young Girl, Wife, Mother, Protector, Warrior, Teacher.
Both men and women are welcome in this evening sweat lodge. Let's celebrate together!
