This program will be 11am - 2 on Saturday, November 8th in the kitchen at the Center For Peace.
Fire cider is a homemade tonic with many benefits. It helps with general good health, and aids your immune system helping to fight off all sorts of issues from the common cold to the flu. Perry Robinson used to make a similar elixir called, "plague formula". It's important to note that we will be making this during the week of the beaver moon, a good time to make tincture and elixirs. Peggy will show you how to make it and will give you resources and links with more information. She will bring some to taste. Peggy will supply the ingredients. You will need to bring your own glass jars with lids. Peggy Towson is an executive chef who graduated from the culinary Institute of Pennsylvania. She has had a restaurant in the old city called The All Night Eggplant. She specialized in vegan, vegetarian and macrobiotic healing foods. That’s where she met a group of ladies who brought her to the Center for Peace in 1995. She has cooked for the dances, is a Sun Moon dancer, and has moon mothered for several dances. Peggy is working on getting her certification in apothecary healing medicine. Peggy is from the Oklahoma band of the Cherokee nation and has grown up with natural healing properties from her mother and grandmother.
